Benchmark fight! Pyro vs. Ninja!
Alright, so I was just over my friend's dorm (pat) looking at another friend's computer (ted)(ted tried to move a DELL motherboard over and we ended up phucking up his CPU so he's got to buy a new one).
But Pat has told me that he's getting an X2, and I bragged about my Sandy. So! I challenged him to a benchmark fight. He has yet to tell me the intricacies of his system, such as ram latencies, but right now this is how it looks:
My system:
- 3700+ San Diego (Overclocked to 3 Ghz I'm hoping with water)
- 1 GB (2x512) OCZ Gold Vx (2-2-2-5 @ 250 Mhz, or higher if I can get them with my water setup)
- 6800NU (unlocked, and overclocked as soon as my water's set up)
- 80GB SATA150 system drive
- MSI k8n neo2 platinum
His system:
- X2 4400+ Toledo (not overclocked)
- 2 GB of RAM, latencies are most definitely looser then mine, and I highly doubt he's running over 400Mhz FSB
- Radieon 850X (pci express)
- MSI neo4
- "twin 100 Seagates 7200 baracuddas meg cache" (not stripe, just two drives)
Given that he's got an X2, I'm thinking he may have the edge....but I'm overclocking and have no remorse to set my radiator on my air conditioner and crank my chip up another 200 Mhz.
---just heard from him that he "probably won't" be overclocking.

bump. I've got some changes. I changed my RAM from gold VX to Platinum EL!
OCZ sent me some of these amazing chips in replacement of my VX. Man am I glad they did....I'm gonna hie 3.3 Ghz with 1:1!!! Well....maybe....that's a 50% OC....with a board max vcore of 1.55V....I hope to hit 3 Ghz 1:1
Also, my ASRock came in, so I'm just waiting on my CPU RMA...they should receive it next Monday so I'm hoping I have it a week from then so I can spend a couple weeks tweaking.
