What Power supply do I need to run x1950 pro?

I just purchased an x1950 pro for my PC. I have a 300W power supply, but I know that I need to upgrade that now. It says it recommends 450W. And it says "Connection to the system power supply is required:
450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system)"
.
I have no idea what that means though. What does it mean by Connection to the system power supply is required? And how do I know if the power supply has 30 Amps on 12 volt rail?

I have an eMachines T6520. So if someone could help me find the right power supply I need for my card, and something that will fit my case, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

well since the case looks kinda proprietory may l suggest this power supply Thermaltake 500watt psu its cheap and will get the job done. If you need to change the case its not that hard to do and it can be well worthwhile

That looks nice. Do you think it will fit my case? Also, what does it mean when it says the card needs to connect to the power supply? I thought I just plugged it into the PCI-E slot and that's it. Is there more to it? I previously had an X800xl and that's all I needed to do with that card.

Does this Power supply have the 30 amps and 12 V rail? I'm not really sure what that means.

Thanks

that power supply should power your pc and that card fine, you just need to swap your old one with the old one, like I said the 30amp is a rating for amperes if you have a beefy setup already, but yours is pretty efficient in terms of power usage so it'll do fine.

the X1950PRO probably has a molex connector you need to plug into it so it can get the extra power it needs.

Is there different power supply that you would recommend that's around the same price, that you believe would be better?

If you want to have a PSU that no one really knows of , and is really cheap and good here it is :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16817339012

I've had one and a few other members have had them, great psu for the money , HEC where the ones doing antec Power supplies before channelwell took over.

this silverstone unit is priceyer , but you only get the brand name that comes with it. Solid unit, solid power.

Cool. Is there a limit to the amount of wattage you can have on certain motherboards. The motherboard I have is the stock motherboard with my emachines T6520. Is there a limit that it can handle or is any amount fine? Too much won't overload it, will it? Here is what I have:

Board: MICRO-STAR MS-7145
Bus Clock: 199 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 05/06/2005

nope there is no limit. The pc will only take what ever you need. As for that hec unit l ran a e6600 with a x1950pro and killed the psu. Out of the suggested my bets go for the OCZ then the thermaltake and then the FSP
