Video Crashes ATI HD 4870
I'm having problems after installing Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC. Whenever i attempt to playback an video media file (via VLC or WMP) my computer completely freezes up, no keyboard or mouse control at all and i have to hard reset.

Just updated motherboard bios and monitor drivers as well.
I have CCC 10.10 installed and the newest drivers available on their site.
This problem also occurs on all youtube videos. Is this a catalyst control center problem with windows 7? Or can a different driver take care of the issue?

Hmmm ill have to try just kicking CCC to see if it responds to that better...
Its all hardware I bought/assembled about 2 years ago. Started out with the windows 7 RC and the cd drivers for my card were useless there so I gave up on that haha. Had been running XP (which everything worked great on ) until just now switching to 7 again.
