Good luck with the mixed installs.

As a side comment it might be possible to work out a driver/registry mod to make it work for multiple ATI cards, but that would take a graphics driver developer that has debug tools to be able to look into it (without too much trouble). If it could be done it might only work for one version of driver, but someone willing to do that these days for an old card is unlikely.

Thanks.

Now the big question will be if the CPU can handle the load...

I noted my QUAD AMD CPUs working very hard when recording off two Happage Tuners...

IS there a simple/small stripped down version of Windows 7 or some other simple basic OS I can run Beyond TV and the tuners on? All I want these computers to do is be DVRs.

And I agree, the trend is to other devices and straight off the internet TV watching.

Funny as you cannot get all networks and CBS is being very stingy with their programing, so catch it live or live without, they are not even rerunning some shows on their own web site...

So Computer DVR is a now a very good idea, but most have missed this fact and I am picking up old OTA HD Tuner cars cheap on ebay.

I donlt think there is much you can do if you want multimedia in a stripped down machine. There is always *nix variants that are being used for that these days, but I have have no idea what you do there.

64 bit OS is still the way to go so you can utilise all memory, machine may be caching so you might need to check system monitors to see what is going on and what processes are creating CPU load.

I would think with the compression on the tuner cards the overhead would be around getting the compressed video from the cards to the drive, so that is moving data around (for three or four tuners at a time) not processing it. Disk bandwidth maybe an issue so you might need to have some seperated drives to store to.

Let us know what you figure out.

There is always the option of PVR's with external drives to keep in mind.
