Resolution keeps changing! Grrr

Hi guys, I have a slightly annoying problem and I'm hoping maybe you can help me get it fixed. I have an Ati Sapphire X1600 Pro 256mb. Basically I want my desktop resolution to be 1280x1024, but everytime I reboot, both my graphic card and Ati CCC seems to forget the setting and sets it back to 1024x768. For some odd reason, when I go in the computer's display settings I only have 2 choices: 800x600 and 1024x768. I know there use to be a lot more. I've recently installed a game and played around with different drivers and it's been that way since. To set it to 1280x1024 I have to go through CCC in the display manager and set the desktop resolution to what I want there, but it NEVER stays that way. Help! :S

EDIT: Oh, btw I have Ati driver 8.6.
