Question New here, wanted to check if I'm in the right place

Hello, I am new here and was trying to find a way to contact a moderator about if I am in the right place as suggested in the rules and such. I just noticed that I can not PM someone until I have 10 post.

I have an ATI V4800 Workstation card and was not sure if this is the correct Forum to get help with downloading and installing Catalyst and learning the bells and whistles there-in.

My OS is Kubuntu 11.04 [Linux] and my hardware is all new, 4core 970 Black @3.5 GHz, 16 GB Ram[DDR3-1600], 990NB/950SB mobo chip-sets, 1.5TB HDD. The system is AMD/ATI and I could use a little help, if I am in the right place.

Thank You ahead of time.

Hi.

Basically what I can say about Catalyst drivers is that they're the drivers ATI recommends and packages with their hardware. They're fairly basic, but do offer things like overclocking and other performance options. You should be able to find them easily on the net. As for Linux, I can't be sure.

If you want even more performance, take a look at Omega drivers. Just be sure to wipe the old (Catalyst) drivers 1st.
