How to force crossfire?

Hey guys,

Got a bit of an issue with some graphics cards,

I just acquired a second Radeon HD 5770, and I was planning to crossfire with them, but the second card's ended up on a slot that's only got PCIe x1. The way to kick that up to 4x is to remove my Xonar and I'm not very keen on that. The second card shows up as disabled under CCC and i was wondering if there was absolutely any way to force it to be enabled?

Thanks
