Nothing comes up on the screen, i dont think the bios even boots up
i was hoping it would and it reads the floppy so i can copy the orginal
back even if i dont have any video.

But that aint happen. The card is dead i dunno.

Now im on my burnt out ati 9800 AIW, the vga sliencer aint make good
contact to the core due the metal shim i couldnt removed... shoulda tried harder.

Now i see artifact like shit in windows, cant run no games....
I think ima cry, but ill take it like a man...

i dunno where ima get money to buy another card. Im just assed out. Hopefully i can
find some agp card for 10 dollars cause thats all i have. Thanx for ur help. I shoulda
knew this was gana happen. I guess i cant stop the inevitable. So im basically fucked.
Cant tell my mom she paid for my whole system just last month i put it together. I give

ill get a better high. lol. j/p.

dude. why didnt you tell me that it was a AIW. thats why its broken. the AIW models have serious PCB differences. sorry to hear that dude. one thing is, that card is very rare, a 256MB nonpro. Did you flash it back? put a pci card in your second slot and boot into it and change your setting to bootup on pci. Reflash it with both cards in and hopefully all goes well

the AIW is broken because i aint install vga silencer correctly.
The 9800nonpro broken cause the bios aint work....

the problem is your memory is routed a little differently then normal nonpros. get a group of bioses that support samsung ram with 256mbs. keep flashing.

I dont think you understand,

My card shows nothing, my computer doesnt boot up to windows.
when i turn on the power with it on the screen stays black, and
i dont even think that my computer boots up like, it check the floppy
for a bootable disk and so on(the green light comes on). The light doesnt
come on the floppy drive so, its not doing what its supposed to, i have the floppy
drive 1st in the boot sequence.

Tell me how do i flash it over when i cant see anything nor does it allow
my computer to boot from the floppy.

do this: get a pci card. take out your 9800np. go into bios and find the setting that should be like First Display Init:AGP/PCI. Select pci. then put your agp back in. your card will initialize the agp socket but not use it. at that point reflash. hoped i helped

I think he said he doesn't have a PCI card.

My two cents, this is the danger of flashing many people ignore. When doing these kinds of things you always have to be prepared to replace whatever you are experimenting with. It is never 100%. That is one of the reasons I prefer the softmod approach.

memph, the guy had a very rare card as powercolor is the only brand that makes 256mb non pros. if you didnt understand me corectly, i said buy the cheapest $5 pci card, nothing like 30, i no he dosent have one. and softmodding will damage your card. the longest case of softmodding ive herd of is 12 months then the card dies from weird causes, nothing natural. most people have their cards die in a coarse of 3-6months from softmodding. all this guy has to do is get a good pci card and flash back, his card isnt broken. unlike softmodding, this is reversible

Soft modding is completely reversable. If you use Omega drivers it is as simply as reinstall of drivers to turn on and off soft-modded cards. If they card gets too bad restart in safe mode and uninstall, no risk.

No they are not.

Many people did the softmod to the 9500 Pro to make it a 9700 Pro. Some got checkerboards and simply uninstalled the mod. I did the 9700 Pro - 9800 Pro soft mod no problems.

The only bad part of the soft-mod is you have to reapply it everytime you get new drivers.
