Use software like easy cd creator to make a data disk. Then set your bios to boot from our cd-rom device

SE can be flashed to a Pro. Pro can be flashed to an XT. some x800 can be flashed to a x800XT.

You CAN NOT flash a SE to a XT

to be honest dr.dos is not burnable to a cd unless you make an image of the actuall dr.dos. there is another version called freedos that comes built as an image (.iso) so all you have to do is burn it to a cd and boot it. http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/distributions/beta9rc5/ is the link to the folder containg the files. download the one file ending in .iso and use any image burning program like nero or roxio to burn it to disc.

Ok just a litlle Question.

I have a MSI RX 9800 which has the R360 core listed in ATI Tool (I know ATI Tool is not very accurate but I can't distach the cooling unit because of warranty) .
So do I have to find a bios which is from MSI (I don't think they actually have XT's in their product sortiment) or can I use an regular ATI bios which has the correct memory listing like that one of my card?

your card uses hynix 2.8ns. try using the sapphire bios or the HIS bios.

Help ME!!!

Ok I have a 9800 PRO 128MB. I am considering falshing it to an XT. Is there a piece of software that will tell me the core? Something that could be trusted 95%. I don't really want to remove my fan and hs since I purchased a retail card for the warrenty. I know you say not to trust software so that leads me to my next question. If I back up the stock BIOS can I put them back on if the flash doesn't work?
