GeCube HD3850 Some games run brill...others not at all

Hi

I recently upgraded to a better PC which I found (to my delight) had a PCI-e interface (my old one was AGP).

So I also had to upgrade my (7600xt, IIRC) Gfx card and chose a GeCube HD 3850 512Mb.

'Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion', 'Deus Ex' and 'Far Cry' work a treat.

Unfortunately, the following games don't:
- 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07' (screen res. lowers, goes to black, then back to Windows and resets screen res. Game program is running in task bar but has to be killed from Task Manager at which point I hear the"'E!A! Sports! It's in the game!" ident as the screen goes back to black, then again back to Windows where I can finish killing it off)
- 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 demo' (same symptoms as TWPGAT07, above)
- 'Worms Armageddon' (a game the card should hardly notice asking for resources for just hangs at a black screen)
- 'Thief II: The Metal Age' (hangs just after starting the first scenario, you get to hear Basso telling you he's unlocked the side door to the mansion you're breaking into and that's it)

I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers (dated June 18th 2008) but oddly when I look at the properties of the card in Device Manager it still says it's using drivers from Jan 2008).

WTF's going on?

Cheers

Try removing drivers...reboot and re-install latest drivers again.

Are you using driver only or ccc version?

Natch.

Looks like it's Folding @ Home doing it. When I quit it, Tiger Woods 08 demo works, at least.

I have no recollection of telling it to fold on anything in particular and as the ATI card hadn't even been bought when I installed F@H then I can only assume the client is acting as per default behaviour.

Which is a long-winded way of saying "I don't know"!
