Crossfire or new card?

I have a ati radeon hd4850 512mb in the com now. what would be better getting another and crossfiring them? or buying a new ati radeon hd 6850 1 gb and just running that alone with no crossfire? what would be better for battlefield 3, skyrim,MW3....

I'd go for a new card, seeing as I'm pretty sure the 4850 is DX10 while the 6850 is DX11. Plus, 2 4850s would use much more power than a 6850 and you'd probably get a better experience with a 6850 compared to two 4850s. Crossfire doesn't always improve framerates. SLI and Crossfire can actually decrease gaming performance, believe it or not. In most cases it does increase performance though.
