Colored squares across both monitors???
HI,
I have a Single ATI Radeon HD 5970, 2GB GDDR5
ATI Radeon HD 5970, 2GB GDDR5 (system specs are below) (the specs say 'single' but in device manager the card is listed twice above 'Mirage Driver', I don't know why. The system (ergo the card) is 13 months old (just out of warranty, gulp!).
Small colored squares are appearing randomly across both my monitors. If I don't close down whatever program caused the squares to start appearing, my system will lock up. It can happen in Maya, Premiere, web sites (especially playing HD videos).
I updated the driver yesterday and they seemed to go away but 4 hours later, they appeared again.
Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rusty

Colored squares across both monitors??? - Getting Same Thing!
I am getting the exact same pixelation corruptions with colored squares across both monitors. I also have an Alienware Aurora but am running 2 ATI Radeon HD 5970, 2GB GDDR5 adapters with 2 monitors. For me, the corruptions occur in every application and will not go away until a reboot (logout doesn't clear them). They are also appearing more frequently now with less time between corruptions. I also installed the latest drivers from Dell which didn't help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

had geek squad out... talked to ATI... talked Dell... from all, bad news. The card is going out; probably the memory. I shamed Dell into replacing mine.

Colored squares across both monitors???
Thank you Rusty. Mine are under warranty so I may be okay if it's that. I just didn't want to have to go through the whole process of them troubleshooting software, drivers, reinstall windows , etc. before they accept it.
I'm glad you will get yours resolved though. I'll have to block out a huge chuck of time and then call Dell I guess.
Many thanks for your reply!

Glad its under warranty. Yes... a hefty chunk of time. Dell was suppose to send a tech to install the board but so far, only the board has arrived. No doubt I can install it, I just didn't want to. I've been on hold and disconnect from Dell support twice now today... very frustrating.
