Can you help me?! 3850agp problem

Hi, I am trying to squeeze every last bit of juice out of my old system before I get a new one.
I have just bought a Sapphire 3850agp but it arrived without the molex to 8pin pci-ex adaptor.
Being a complete noob I went and bought what I thought was the correct adaptor, only it won't fit.
Seems the female part on the 3850 board is unique to it?

Question is: if I trim and force the adaptor I have bought, will it work or will it fry the card? If Sapphire also changed the wiring then it'll fry!

Anyone know?
