Ati radeon x1300 pci 256mb

Is someone able to tell me what the black jumper switch next to the power connector for the fan is used for???

there are 3 pins but pins 2 & 3 are connected. if pins 1 & 2 are connected does that do something???

there is nothing in the manual and searching on the net hasn't turned up any answers....

Looking at what I assume is the Visiontek X1300 PCI you have, the jumper you're referring to is likely a fan speed switch. If you move the jumper to pins 1-2 it appears it will alter the fan speed settings. Whether its a quiet mode or faster spinning mode, I don't know.

Thanks for your reply,

I don't know the brand but looking on the net they all look exactly the same. Only the sticker on the heat sink differ. Mine has an ati sticker on the fan.

I guess the only way to find out is the try chaning the jumpers.

If anyone else has any experience or knows, it would be much appreciated.

so did anyone ever figure this one out? cause i've got that visiontek x1300 pci and moving the jumper caused me to have no output from the card with no noticeable difference in fan speed.

I tried switching the jumpers around but nothing changed. I tried emailing to visiontek even though I don't have a visiontek brand card. I go no reply. Maybe you can try asking them coz you have one.

The reason I was wondering was when I insert the ati card, it conflicts with another device's resourses. Maybe the jumper could fix the problem which it didn't.

Sorry I misread your post. Mine operated the same even when the jumpers were changed. If you do email visiontek and get a reply, let me know. Curious to know what it's purpose is for.
