After installing Radeon 7500, New Hardware Wizard keeps running

I just installed an ATI Radeon 7500, and I downloaded the driver/installation files from the ATI website. The file I downloaded was ati_radeon_7500_37234.zip. I ran the setup.exe and it seemed to install the drivers and software normally, although during the installation the Found New Hardware Wizard started up.

Ever since, when I boot up my computer the Found New Hardware Wizard and the Found New Hardware window pop up. If I cancel them, they come right back. I can't get rid of them.

I'm using Windows 2000. Looking in Device Manager, the Other Devices category has a yellow question mark next to it, and in it's sub categories there are six Unknown Devices lines with yellow questions marks. Looking in the properties for these Unknown Devices shows the Location as "on Radeon 7500".

I'm guessing these is something on the video card that needs a separate driver (the TV tuner??) and it wasn't supplied in the zip file I downloaded from ATI. Can someone help me out with this and make some suggestions for fixing the problem.

Thanks, John

it is possible the drivers simply did not install correctly, or that (like you mentioned) there may be other components on the card that require drivers such as TV tuners, or any other accelerator devices. You will have to find the exact model video graphics card that you are using before knowing what else it could be. You should see a model number listed on the device itself, usually on a small white sticker. Knowing that you can look up the info you need online.

But the Radeon 7500 was released more than 10 years ago, so I doubt you'll find any modern support. ATI still has legacy support for these older devices, but nothing beyond the last written driver for 98/2000/XP.
