When to buy a new macbook pro - when will apple replace it?
I was planning on buying a macbook pro (17" and an external display), to use as my main computer for image, audio and video editing. I was told it might not be a good time to buy as apple might release a replacement or update for the current macbook pro. Can anyone advise me on this? Is there an expected release of something new?

The rumor mill hasn't been as active about Macbook pro updates/upgrades lately, so my guess is that any such thing would be months away. If you aren't in any sort of rush, then you could go ahead and wait until April/May/June to see if anything materializes, but if you need it now, then by all means get it--you won't be dissapointed. Any updates probably won't be extremely significant either, probably just a little bump in processor speed.
