From what I read, the LED screens are only on 15" monitors, but that's what I would get anyway... I guess the standard configuration will serve you pretty well, * 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo * 1440 x 900 resolution * 2GB memory * 120GB hard drive1 * 8x double-layer SuperDrive * NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM That's pretty powerful of a machine, and a good deal for $2000 (Macs are usually only a good deal when they first get an update), and that should handle games well. Keep in mind, a virtualized graphics layer may be slow, and DX 10 support may be poor/nonexistant. To get the best performance of Windows apps on that machine, save money and just use boot camp, or both.

well i know that parallels lets you use boot camp partition, so i can use both, and get the best of both worlds. and with 4gb of ram i should be golden to be running that.
well thanks dude, ill just have to put in my order and buy parallels....its funny, more macs have windows on them than osx ![]() |

Sounds like a good move too. VMware fusion is still a while away, and doesn't offer quite as much support for DirectX as you seem to want, so parallels is a good choice. You should also really check out Parallels coherence mode, a great way to have Windows apps integrated right into your OS X environment. With 4 GB of DDR2, your system will fly. Enjoy! |

YES, ANOTHER ONE COMING TO THE DARK SIDE!!!
Muahahahahaha... (Although I guess mac is more of the light side... hrm) Yes bootcamp is nice, and mac's will keep chugging all day long. You may want to wait a bit for mac osx10.5 then bootcamp is officially supported and whatnot and get the free upgrade for the OS and all.

The only problem with that is that the macs usually aren't worth the money they cost when they're between/middle of upgrade cycles, gotta pick them up when the first receive an update, and they run maybe even a bit better of a value. I wonder if Apple sells them at a loss when they first update? |

the dark side? oh no in that case forget the whole deal
but actually one big point of it is the video card and all the epic hardware, having the best of windows and getting the mac stability and security to go along with it. and you can use some good haxing programs with the apple hardware, like the airport card BWHAHAHAHHAHAHHA ![]() |

But the hardware won't be worth it's price by then... The MPB won't get updated probably till after Xmas now. |

They upgrade quite a bit more often than that. It will get at least another upgrade around christmas.
Jaken you were a senior in HS this past year correct? Well you may end up wanting to buy now, they have a free nano with a mac purchase again, and on top of that you get like $200 of a MBP for being a student as well as last year I got $100 of when I also bought a printer. |
