ipod wont play certain songs

I have an ipod mini 4gb. Certain songs that i put on there wont play and ipod will just skip over them. I figured out a way to play them and that is by pausing the song that you know doesnt work and then fast forwarding and playing it. After doing this you can go back to that song and play it fine. But i cant do this to everyone( there are about 10 of these songs)
why does this happen?
Is there any way of fixing it?
(BTW sending it back is not an option for me)

I was having similar issues; Songs being skipped, songs not playing at all. It was a huge head ace. I got them all to play, heres How I did it.

My ipod is the classic 80GB version 6.

1. all .mp3 extensions need to be lower case. I had some that were .MP3, renaming fixed some of them.

2. I was using periods for delimiters, so my file names looked like: 01.Drain_STH.Enter_My_Mind.mp3. While my ipod accepted 90% of my music using periods, certain ones it would not, I had to use something else; hyphens.

3. I also used underscores instead of spaces. Again, this was fine for most of my music but for the ones that would not play, I changed them to spaces.

4. After all this I still had a hand full of songs that would refused to play. I discovered they were one word artist name and one word track names. So for example, 2 tracks from the same album:

01-Deftones-My Own Summer.mp3 - would play
02-Deftones-Lhabia.mp3 - would NOT play

wtf??
I added a space to the beginning of Lhabia and it works now. IE:
02-Deftones- Lhabia.mp3 - would play

This is what worked for me. Renaming files is a lot easier than re-encoding them. I use a great program called Tag & Rename.

I think:
-your file is not encoder in correct standard => try to compress audio disk by itune.
-if it played before then now re-add and the iPod just skip, maybe your songs be keep so long in storage.
try "right click"/"convert" then delete the previous file.
and I think we should to restore iPod with latest version then try the below.
hope you done with your skip songs.

ipod is useful for listening songs and it is very portable to carry any where, it will be more convenient if it will play more formats which are now available
