Im not certain here, I specialize with Powermacs to be honest, I think the battery has failed and won't hold charge. my friends acer laptop barely holds 5 minutes. It's also common to find users who have had to replace there Ibook/Powerbook/Macbook chargers as well as their batteries. I know for certain it's not a logic board fault. A new logic board is basically a new mac laptop. The red led either means it's charging the battery and/or the powerpack has failed. The red LED can also mean its charging the battery, but the battery won't hold charge, so it thinks it's still charging.
