Stupid question but.....
Dual core opteron @ 2 Ghz is that 2 ghz combined or each core? i know it's a daft question but not having a dual core i don't know yet lol but im doing some research to build a dual cpu opteron rig.
oh and whats the difference between the fx and the opteron? and what would be better for 3d apps and graphics apps (adobe cs3)? Last edited by nerk : January 16th, 2008 at 02:53 PM. Reason: forgot to add something!

I agree, it's not a bad question at all. I recall when dual-core first came out, there were some who advertised the systems as double the clock speed; playing on the assumption that two 2GHZ processors, for example, were equivalent to one 4GHz processor, which isn't nearly the case.
