Overclocking ax2 5200

I don't know what I,m doing ,but I have been playing at overclocking my 5200 . I,ve had it up to 2700 mhz . The problem and question is the thing seems to go back to almost stock speed without me touching any settings ,. I have pd wizard running so i can see what the speed is any ideas a illiterate can use?
Thanks

Sounds like you have a motherboard bios that resets back to default speed settings if it encounters a thermal event that might damage your hardware. A 2.7ghz overclock on your 5200+ may have been too much of an overclock for your cpu, mobo or memory to handle and it reset itself so that nothing got cooked.

You could try again, but stay under 2.7ghz since you know it resets itself at that speed!
