hmm idk maybe you got lucky and they gave you a higher chip or there is something wrong with the chip and it is reading as a 3600+ but those temps seem pretty high.

Its reading as a 3600+???
Well that says two things. AMD was or is planning on making a 3600+ chip because its obviously registered in the BIOS, and that your chip might somehow be overclocked without your knowledge??? hehe

A high temp? Not likely considering its runnign much faster than it 'should' be. chances are something in your BIOS is not correct for a stock 2800+. Don't sweat it, slap a better qualtiy heatsink on it and enjoy the freebie OC.
Otherwise, record your stepping and copy-paste into google and do a search to see if anyone else is getting similar results. Everest is a great program, and will reveal some good info. CPUZ can also be used for that.
Its kinda hard for us to trouble shoot your system when you haven't provided ANY BIOS information at all. We need that to help.

I'm not quite getting this. You said the gave you TWO amd64's?? Like you RMAed one and they sent you two back? Then one is a 3600+? What is the other one? Like hey said...more information please. Can't really help you until I know more. Yes, get CPUZ easy to use and straight forward.

Well, it does fit in his mobo so I'm guessing its a 754. Also, there is no such thing (at least currently) as a 3600+ amd64.

Plus it would take forever to count all of those pins...and give you sore eyes.

That seems to show a possible cause of your temperature problem...
Sure thats not Ram voltage? 2.5V is awfully high.
I'm so stupid. WOW!! Can't belive I didn't catch that...
Thats a really high voltage for a cpu. I don't believe it should be that high. Plus those temps arent bad but they aren't good either. Are you using a stock heatsink?

Check for FSB frequency set in BIOS. Multiplier of A64 2800+ is 9. 2210 MHz CPU freq. means bus freq is 245 MHz. Vcore should be around 1,4-1,5V, but not 2,5V. Overclocked A64 2800+ (NewCastle core) generate excessive heat and temp may reach 60 C (throttled). The best way to check system is CPU-Z (v.1.27 available at present).
