AMD Sempron 3000+ Upgrade?
Hi!
I am in the process of upgrading my old Socket A Machine (I know I know... I will be building however it will be at least a year before then so I at least want to be able to do something!)
I currently have:
2GB DDR400 (PC3200) RAM
Radeon x1650 512MB gfx (Agp 8x)
Sempron 3000+
I am considering upgrading it to an Athlon XP 3000+ or 3200+. I know the Sempron and Athlon XP are rated differently, but my question is, would an upgrade from a Sempron 3000+ to an Athlon XP 3000/3200+ be noticeable or worth it? Regardless of being outdated, Im still seeing $100 or more for one of these CPU's (eBay runs a little less, but anything buy-it-now is still up there in that region)
So in essence, will a notice a performance increase? Will there be any value or worth to putting this processor in?
Thanks!
John
