Are you talking about this?
If so, that's to do with Intel's old Netburst-based dual cores, which were definitely behind the X2's in terms of performance and power consumption. The newer Core2 architecture chips, though, kick the X2s in the face most of the time, and when you overclock as well even the lowliest versions of the Core2 can beat X2s. If that's not the link, you can post the URL without the http:// at the front and it should get past the filter (Why is there a filter?? I don't know..) |

Would you be interested in a Bridge I have for sale?

That's completely ridiculous amd is simply meant to overclock, you cant deny that, i will say though the new intels are basially neck and neck with AMD up until the 750+ priced chips where intel comes ahead, stupid how 4 websites will prove amd is better than intel and then you type is intel better than amd, and that website proves that intel is better, so ill use a personal experience, my 2.4 is overclocked at 2.7and runs at a constant 39 degrees, with a zalman heat sink that was about 55 bucks, what type of intel do you have, or were you just as bored as i was when you posted that?

Sorry shane you are completely wrong...
AMD beats intel in dual core chips until around the $150 price range. Look at the date that was done one.. 2005!!!! The intel core 2 duo chips are much faster than the x2s right now (and that is coming from me a hardcore AMD fan for some time) When it comes to flat out performance quite frankly AMD has dropped the ball. Go look for some like Inte Core 2 Duo E8200 vs AMD 6000+ X2 benchmarks and get back to me... You will see the that the Intel is much much faster. "nuf said"

I have a AMD computer and I stay up with the CPU chips. I am rebuilding my 939 now quite cheaply, sorry, but since the Intel e6300(duel) chip came out, AMD has been in second place. And it has gotten even worst with their latest set of Quad chips which has serous flaws in the internal codes cause ramdom shut downs. If you want a good inexpensive work horse, your AMD is fine (mattering what you paid) probably one of the best AMD Duel cores for the AM2 sockets, so you are close to their top end. AM2 chipsets are at a end. If you wanted a Thoroughbred, the Intel 775 socket CPUs where the way to go. AMD has turned into FORD of chips. P.S. If you want jaw dropping proof that we know what we are talking about look in Benchmarking http://www.devhardware.com/forums/b...rking-tools-23/ on this forum.

I know how you feel man i've been an AMD Fanboy for as long as i can remember but i mean i can't deny the power of intel anymore their Core 2 duo's destroy the AMD AM2's in every possbile way that matters basically. it pains me because i get these customers that come into Bestbuy (i work there) and tell me they wont buy an AMD based laptop and it has to be Intel. not a bad choice on their part but still painfull being an AMD Fanboy.
AMD just doesnt stack up anymore but i will keep praying that maybe the phenom FX series will be a turn around (highly doubt it though but i can dream)
