Question AMD Athlon 4400+

I had a problem with the service computer. I installed Windows XP and all the games I had installed faster work. The problem is with the AMD Athlon processor 4400 +. Amd optimizer did not help. What is the solution?

Hey i have a AMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 1809.2 Mhz And i would like to know what is the highest that i can upgrade to? Because i would like something alot better then what i got because i can hardly run the games i want with this processor. I Dont know if this is a AM2? Or what?
I was looking on NewEgg and i found this AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor. Would i be able to put this into my system?
