A64 3200+ Clawhammer vs. Athlon 2800+ Barton

I'm scavenging parts for a pc for my brother. Right now I have:

an Athlon64 3200+ Clawhammer in an Asus K8V SE Deluxe mobo

and a Athlon 2800+ Barton in a DFI LanParty nForce 2 Ultra B

which is the better pair for a gaming / photoshop computer?

OH this is the cooler that was on the Barton, can anyone tell me what model it is? I want to see if the bracket will work on the Clawhammer. I know this is a popular model because I had used it before on a different Barton build (back when Barton was a big deal)

The heatsink appears to be one of the older 900 series from thermalright, such as the SLK-900u or SLK-900A, you can look here and try to figure out which it is exactly.

As for the performance difference, I would go with the Athlon64 3200, as you can see here the 3200 clawhammer is faster than the 2800 barton, and in some cases it is quite significant.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured between the two CPU's. I just wanted someone elses opinion because I remember the Bartons being SO popular.

And yes that is the cooler, I couldn't remember its name for the life of me! Unfortunately though it looks like the base of the cooler will be incompatible with the mounting bracket for the A64 3200+.
