    VisionTek GeForce2 GTS 64MB - Conclusion

Overclockability: Yes I know you all want it. And as always, I deliver to the peeps. I have showed you benches of what this card is capable of being overclocked, and here is what I have actually been able to get this card to run at stable.

I'm gonna be honest with ya right off the bat. I am very pleased at what this card has been able to attain in the regards of speed. Now these aren't by any means Geforce2 GTS Ultra frequencies, but then again, this card did not cost me $500 bones either. If you remember the Hercules Geforce2 GTS 32meg review, we saw that card as not being very overclocking friendly. With the VisionTek we see a 17% increase in Core Clock Frequency and over a 20% increase in Memory Clock. Not too shabby indeed. Overall I am extremely pleased with the overclockability of this card.

Tidbits: Heh, I like that word. Why i'm not exactly sure. Anyways, I plan on making it a regular piece of my reviews. Here I am gonna show you peeps some of the neat things we can check out with this type of card. Namely 2 new demo's that Nvidia just put out. The Creature and Pond Demo's. These are poetry in motion.

This has got to be the most Evil/Wicked Demo I have seen from the Nvidia boys yet. Eerie in a beautiful kind of way. And to see it is poetry in motion.

Here is the new Pond Demo. By far the cleanest looking "real-time" water I have ever seen.

nVIDIA's Alien Technology Demo. Beautiful Metallic/Reflective FX

You can get the above Demo's on nVIDIA's Site HERE.

Last Homebrew Pics of the card

Conclusions: We here at OCA have decided to quit giving ratings for hardware we review. As we see it, what we believe to be kickass may be crap in the eyes of others. There are just too many preferences in this industry to try and boil everything down to a number. However, I will touch upon the highs and lows of this card. At first I had reservations about the performance of this card, and to be honest, at stock speed this card is no barn burner. However, after putting on some heatsink lovin' and overclocking this baby, we were treated to some serious performance boostage. This card is going to stay in my box until the GTS2 Ultra's come down to about $199 or so. Ok...so that may be awhile ;0)

    Highs:

    • Price ($314 to the doorstep) still a lot of money, but by far the cheapest 64meg Geforce2 GTS

    • Great performance

    • Excellent Overclockability

    • 3yr manufacturer's warranty

    Lows:

    • No Frills

    • Original heatsink and fan was pretty worthless.

    • Price. Yes $314 dollars is STILL a lot of money.
