VisionTek GeForce2 GTS 64MB - Benchmarks
Benchmarks: We will be benchmarking this card against the Hercules Prophet SE and the Hercules Prophet II GTS 32meg cards. We would love to put this bad boy up against a Voodoo5 5500 but as of yet have not been able to attain one of those. We're working on it though! Here are the systems specs used to bench the card.
CPU: p3600e (@810mhz)
Memory: 128megs Micron pc100
Mobo: Abit BE6-2
Hardrive: Maxtor 30gig ATA/66 (7,200rpm)
CD-Rom: Kenwood 52x
Sound: Diamond MX-300
5.32 Nvidia Reference Drivers
First up is 3dMark2000. We are all familiar with this one and it is of course the industry standard in benching your video card and processor.

Ok, at first glance, we see the VisionTek barely eeking past the Hercules. However, after we put the coals to the ol' VisionTek and OC the hell outta that baby, we get some very impressive numbers. I will get to the extent to which the VT overclocked to after the benchmarks. I will let you in on a secret. It blew the Herc out of the water as far as overclocking goes.
Next up are Quake3 Benchmarks. All benches were run at default resolution for their settings, except where stated. Also with simple items on and other items turned off as seen below.

Now we see the VisionTek kicking ass as expected, however, not totally blowing the Hercules GTS off the map. Even overclocked we do not see much of a difference here with the VisionTek. We are pretty much limited by the processor at this point. And overclocking the VT will not produce any higher framerates. Lets move on to something a little more stressful.

Now we are seeing a negligible increase in framerates by overclocking the VT. A 17%increase in HQ. Although not near the same increase for HQ 1024x768. Still, not too shabby.
