    Benchmarks Continued

Let's see what kind of scores the Tachyon G9600Pro is putting up. Just keep in mind, this is a synthetic benchmark so take the results with a grain or 2 of salt.

    3DMark01SE Build 330

    Default

I decided to leave FSAA out of the 3DMark runs. We simply ran it at default and 1280 x 1024 resolution for all cards to see what kind of scores we could expect. As seen in our GF FX 5600 review, the 5600 256MB scores terribly low in the tried and true 3DMark01 SE while the older and MUCH cheaper Ti4200 outpaces it by quite a bit. The Tachyon G9600Pro makes an impressive showing, but as with most of the newer DX9 capable cards, I suspect it will shine a bit brighter when running the latest software. Let's take a look at 3DMark01 SE at 1280 x 1024 resolution before moving on to 3DMark03.

    1280 x 1024

The same trend shows here and the now antiquated GF Ti4200 comes out on top even at a higher resolution. As seen in UT2k3, the 4200 runs great with few bells and whistles enabled. The G9600Pro still makes a respectable showing.

    3DMark03

Now we see the the G9600Pro shinning with some pretty impressive performance for 3DMark03. The GF Ti4200 is obviously crippled due to it's lack of DX9 compliance, and the FX 5600 simply doesn't have the horsepower that the G9600Pro has.

For kicks I ran 3DMark03 at 1280 x 1024. It still beat out the FX 5600.

Let's move on to checkout Code Creatures and Shadermark v1.7.
