Radeon 9600XT by ASUS Review - Benchmarking
(Page 4 of 10 )
It's now time to see how well this card performs. All indicators show that this card should do well. Lets introduce today's test suite:
- SPECViewperf 7.1.1
- 3DMark2001 SE
- 3DMark2003
- AquaMark 3
- Comanche 4
- GLExcess
- Unreal Tournament 2003
I'll be running this on my computer:
- Intel Pentium 4 Hyperthreading 2.4C @ 3204MHz
- Soltek 86SPE-L Springdale motherboard
- 1 GB PC3200 Infineon RAM
- 80 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9 ATA/133 hard drive
- Windows XP Service Pack 1 with all updates applied
- DirectX 9 from Windows Update
- Latest drivers from Omega
I ran all the benchmarks twice: once at the default settings called "Balanced" and another at the setting marked "Optimal Performance." I'll talk about adding antialiasing and anisotropic filtering later on, but most people are going to run this card at extreme performance levels or not touch it at all. Also, benchmarking the card at the faster setting can give you an idea of what you're likely to gain by running this at its highest level.
SmartDoctor said that the GPU was clocked at 500 MHz and the memory was left at 600 MHz. I did not modify any settings regarding the cooling or the speeds of the video card.
All results reported are the average of three consecutive runs to help detect anomalous scores.
