ProLink PixelView GeForce FX5900XT Golden Limited Review - Testing: Far Cry and Call of Duty
(Page 8 of 9 )
Far Cry (DirectX 9)
FRAPS was used to find frame rate during one specific, repeatable section of the demo. The cards were tested using the following settings: resolution of 1024x768x32, no AA no AF, default detail options.

The FX 5900XT holds no significant advantage over the FX 5700 Ultra in Far Cry, which is rather disappointing.
Call of Duty (OpenGl)
Though based off the very old Quake III engine, Call of Duty can still be pretty intensive for mainstream cards when running AA and AF. FRAPS was used to benchmark the car ride through town under fire in the single player game.

Although the FX 5700 Ultra has the highest average frame rate, the FX 5900XT dips to just under 30 FPS and provides the smoothest gameplay. With a little overclocking, expect the FX 5900XT to really shine.
