    Inno3D GeForce 6800 Review - Conclusion

The NVIDIA GeForce 6800 is a unique GPU. On the negative side it has  12 rendering pipelines (four less than the GT and Ultra's 16 pipelines), has 128MB memory, and has a low core/memory clock. But on the positive side, the 6800 has all the same rendering features as its more powerful brothers, like Shader Model 3.0 support. The other two big plus points are that the 6800 is readily available in retail stores and online hardware vendors and is under $300, unlike both the 6800GT and 6800 Ultra.

    Inno3D GeForce 6800 Review

We have yet to review the 6800GT or Ultra, but I can basically sum them up in a sentence: they are faster, overclock better, are hard to find, and are very expensive. If you can't push yourself to spend an arm and a leg to buy the next level GT or Ultra, then the basic 6800 is certainly something to consider. Inno3D has packaged together a solid graphics solution with their variant of the GeForce 6800. Like many other manufacturers, Inno3D has chosen to follow NVIDIA's reference design and the result is a stable and powerful graphics card.

While Inno3D's bundled software could have been better if it contained a popular game (Doom 3 comes to mind), and their bundled accessories should have included at least a power splitter and S-Video cable, the graphics card is still worthy of praise for beating previous generation's top performer Radeon 9800XT (which is almost the same price) in The Inno3D 6800 is Recommended by Dev Hardwareevery single test. Whether it was a benchmark like X2 Threat or a real gaming test like Far Cry, the Inno3D 6800 always came out on top. If you are using anything older or slower than the 9800 Pro / 5900 XT, or are looking to build a new gaming rig, and don't want to spend over $300 on a graphics card, then the Inno3D GeForce 6800 is a great choice. That's why we've decided to award the Inno3D GeForce 6800 the coveted Dev Hardware Recommended Award.

Dev Hardware would like to thank you for joining us here today for the review of the Inno3D GeForce 6800. We personally want to thank Inno3D for making great graphics cards, one of which we have seen today, and providing gamers with the tools necessary for smooth fragging!
