Code Creatures
A notoriously powerful benchmark that will bring most systems to their knees. Let's see how these 2 cards fair while running Code Creatures.
This one is cut and dry. The FX 5900 Ultra puts a slam dunk on the R9800 Pro in both categories. We all know Code Creatures will bring even the most high-end systems to their knees, but the FX 5900 definitely enjoys the edge here. Again, possibly the extra 128MB and/or clock speed advantage that the 5900 has.
Splinter Cell
Due to the limitations of this particular demo, running AA does not give us a fair reading, so we went with a run of both cards at no level of AA, and also a run at 8X AF to compare the two.
Let's put another check in the WIN column for the R9800 Pro. It clearly dominates the FX 5900 at every level. No amount of memory or clock speed gives the 5900 an edge. Keep in mind however, no AA or AF is enabled here. Let's checkout 8x AF
The R9800 Pro continues to dominate even with 8x Anisotropic Filtering enabled. Moving on.
