The BFG 5900 Ultra shows a 15 to 20% increase in score over the R9700 Pro and these scores are even more impressive given the fact that they were ran at 2x AA, 8x AF and 4x AA, 8x AF. I still remember not long ago when we used to pray for scores this high with every piece of eye candy turned completely off. Below are scores at 1280 x 1024 32bit color.
Wow! Seems the muscle of the 5900 Ultra is paying off here quite a bit. We see a 33% increase in score over the R9700 at 2x/8x and a 37% increase in score over the R9700 at 4x/8x AA/AF. Pretty impressive.
3DMark03 Build 330
Here we see a comparison of the highly controversial 3DMark03. While we do agree that the best way to judge a card's true horsepower is in benchmarking real-world games, 3DMark01 and '03 are still widely used and compared on the internet and we simply wanted to annotate here what type of score you could expect from the BFG GF FX 5900 Ultra 256MB. As we know, non-DX9 capable video cards score extremely poor in 3DMark03 so the ATi 9700 and 9800 series cards score really well. Now we see that the nVidia based GF FX 5900 Ultra shows some impressive numbers as well. 6000+ out of the box, and 6400+ after we overclock the card. 3DMark03 was ran with no AA/AF.
