Today we have the LIAN LI RH-Series Aluminum HD Rack in for a review. An item I have particularly become curious about lately since I have been enjoying the occasional LAN party. It's uses for office and corporate applications are the first things you would imagine using the Mobile HD Rack for, but for my particular needs, it can be used as a great tool. to change from say, a backup drive in my main PC box, to the primary HD on my LAN rig. Maybe not the application LIAN LI originally intended for this product, but a bonus for us gamers on the go.

    Introduction
Today we have the LIAN LI RH-Series Aluminum HD Rack in for a review. An item I have particularly become curious about lately since I have been enjoying the occasional LAN party. It's uses for office and corporate applications are the first things you would imagine using the Mobile HD Rack for, but for my particular needs, it can be used as a great tool. to change from say, a backup drive in my main PC box, to the primary HD on my LAN rig. Maybe not the application LIAN LI originally intended for this product, but a bonus for us gamers on the go.

    Overview
Essentially what we have here, is a HD housing unit that will let you easily install and remove a HD on the fly. On the fly meaning putting it in, and pulling it out. Unfortunately this does not work while the PC is powered up and will merely cause a complete lockup of the system. Still, possibly a very useful item depending on your particular application. Lets take a look at a few pics of the product.

Below are a few shots of the mobile rack out of the package. Certainly a sturdy unit that should withstand quite a beating if need be.

Notice the sunon 40mm fan on the back which provides the unit with a small amount of airflow coming through the rack. Essentially this will help keep the HD cool and make sure it has a long prosperous life should it be relegated to occupying the mobile rack throughout it's existence. Lets checkout some more shots and pull it apart.

When taking apart the mobile rack it's easy to see the quality of the unit. Quite impressive. How bout we slip a HD into this baby and see if it fires up!

Once you get the HD inserted into the swap unit, flip it over and then you can insert it into the rack. Then find an open 5 1/4" slot in your case and it's as simple as sliding it in and screwing it in, just as you would a CD-Rom drive.
