Icy Dock Modiflash 722 - The Tray Itself

When I showed the picture comparing the MB122 and Modiflash enclosures, you  noted that the Modiflash was longer.  This is due to the extra space needed inside the tray to convert the 64-pin connector to the SATA connectors for the drive itself.  In the MB122 model, the drive sat directly against the back of the tray, so its connectors were accessible.

Opening the tray, we find the rest of the materials included in the package.  These include a small zip lock bag containing mounting screws and key, and a jumper wire for connecting the enclosure to the HDD indicator.

Installing the drive into the tray is simple.  First, you put the drive into the opening, and ease it back on the connectors, making sure they are properly aligned.  Once done, you firmly push the drive down, seating the connectors firmly.  Then you flip the tray over while holding the drive in place, and secure the drive in place using four mounting screws.  The above picture shows the bottom of the tray, with the four mounting screws indicated by the yellow arrows.

Here's a pic of the hard drive contained inside the tray, before I reattach the lid.  Note the empty space in front of the drive.  Most of this space is needed for inserting the drive itself, so you can then slide it back onto the connectors at the rear of the tray.

The tray slides easily into the enclosure, mounted in the PC, and locks tightly into place.  A turn of the key secures the tray in place, while another turn actually turns the power on and allows the drive to be accessed.

And finally, a shot of the tray locked into the enclosure.
