    Icy Dock Modiflash 722

Last week we took a look at an internal removable drive caddy from Icy Dock, the MB122. While it was functional, it was very clinical looking, as are many removable drive enclosures. This week, we are looking at yet another Icy Dock product, the Modiflash 722. What’s different about this product? For starters, it's designed to be cooler than its predecessors.

Last week's MB122 had all the cool features of your typical removable drive enclosure:  LCD Display, key lock, etc.  But it still had the plain clinical look to it.

This week's product takes the visual aspect of this device and adds a definite cool factor to it, which should appeal to the people who care as much about the outside of their computer as they do the inside.

This model sports interchangeable face plates, so you can find one to meet your taste.  The one pictured above is the one that came with my 722.

Here are the specifications for the Modiflash 722:

    • Drive Fit: 1 x 3.5" Hot Swappable SATA I or II
    • Device Fit: 1 x 5.25" device bay
    • Internal drive security, exchangeability, expandability and maintenance capabilities
    • Advanced drive monitoring system built internally with LCD visual and audio indicators
    • Stylish faceplate with aluminum cooling body
    • Warm air outtake fan cooling of drive
    • Safeguard key lock capable of power control to disable data accessibility from others
    • Accessible Master/Slave setting through the drive tray without having to physically remove the drive
    • Compact size version in SATA is available for limited depth integration
