    AOpen DUW1608/ARR 16x DVD+/- R/RW Review

Looking for an optical drive? Mephist0 examines the newest 16X DVD R/RW drive from AOpen. Packed with the latest technology, the drive promises a lot--but does it deliver?

    AOpen 16x DVD +/- R/RW +DL

Unlike the processor industry, optical drives have not experienced a slow down in their evolution and are increasing in speed. The AOpen DUW1608/ARR is one of the newer drives, and utilizes some of the newest technologies put into consumer optical drives. As you can see in the above picture of the box, this drive flaunts its 16X writing ability and its ability to write Double Layer DVDs (DVD+DL).

Besides the obvious increase in speed and features over the previous generation of optical drives what else does the AOpen DUW1608/ARR drive offer to make you part with your hard earned jack?
