Gainward Hollywood@Home SoundXplosion Pack Review - A Closer Look at the Music2Go
(Page 3 of 9 )

We'll start with the Music2Go, which looks like a high-tech hockey puck. Although it's a bit of a funky look, it's rather attractive and small enough for those looking to achieve the ultra-mobile lifestyle, where mobility is no barrier to all technology has to offer. The top of the unit has two volume buttons and lights up with a bright blue light when connected. Although the look suggests that it should hardly be noticed, the blue lights flash on and off when in use, making it difficult hard to forget it's there. (Sometimes annoyingly so.)

From left to right, the front of the unit features a line-in (for an external sound source like a CD or MP3 player), MIC in, a headphone-slash-S/PDIF out (to be used with the S/PDIF to 3.5mm adapter, and the remote control sensor.

Looking at the back, from left to right, we have the USB 2.0 uplink, the back surround out, the front out, the rear out, and the center/sub-woofer out. (Note that the back surround is only used by 7.1 speakers, and the rear out and center/sub-woofer are only used by 5.1 speakers.)
Now, the controller - well, that's actually pretty self explanatory. It's a DVD-like remote controller. It's powered by a 3-volt lithium battery, and is about the size of a credit card. It's pretty much only usable with the included WinDVD 5.0 software.
