Top Ten Productivity Apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch - Tools

These apps can help make using your phone easier or more efficient. Here you will find tools that will allow you to make voice memos or even make typing easier by turning your keyboard. The best of the apps that allow you to make better use of your phone include:

    Voice Memo Recorder

If you want to be able to keep notes on your iPhone but you don't want to type them, then you can use Voice Memo Recorder. It's more than just a basic digital tape recorder on your iPhone. This one can do more for organizing your notes.

You can attach a priority and a category to your voice note. You can then organize your notes by the priority, category, date and title. When you view your notes in the app, you can also manually re-organize them by using a simple drag-and-drop system.

    My e-business card

If you use virtual business cards, then this application can help you make one or more accurate, multiple cards and distribute them. You add the image and the text, and it is saved as one solid image. That way you can send it to other users as a virtual business card.

    Where to go GPS

One of the great things about your iPhone is the GPS locator, which can really get you out of a jam if you happen to get lost when you are out and about. Where To Go is an app that takes your GPS and puts it on steroids.

If you need to find a restaurant to take your clients to on the fly, then this app can help you. If you need an ATM on the go it can help you find one. Ditto for a hospital or a gym. With over 600 categories, you can find just about anything that you want to on the go.

    Note and Sketch

As you have probably figured out from the title, this application functions for normal note making, but also allows you to sketch. This may seem like a bit of a useless feature, until you realize that you can use it to make diagrams, or sketch your next corporate logo, or anything else that comes to you in a spark of creativity and can not be expressed easily in words.

    Memory Stick

The Memory Stick app allows your iPhone to act as a virtual USB drive. It will let you transfer your files over wi fi to and from your computer. It shows up as an external drive in both Finder and Windows Explorer. The application supports the following file types: Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF, HTML, mht, .txt file and graphic files (bmp, .gif, .png, .jpg). All of the files will show up in an easy-to-read list on your phone.

    Conclusion

Now that you have seen what these apps can do for you, all you have left to do is choose the ones you want and download them onto your iPhone (or iPod touch). If you have never downloaded an app before, you can do it by using the Apple App store.
