The Ultimate Troubleshooter v3.62 - Advanced Features

The Utilities menu houses several very useful features. The first of these is the Windows Tuning module. This module gives the user access to several advanced, sometime called “hidden” settings in Windows.

The second option is TCP/IP Configuration which provides a deep look into your computer’s networking setup, essentially putting the power of Ipconfig at your fingertips. It shows all of the information for your network adapters and also has a button to release and renew IP addresses.

You’ll also find a few other common networking utilities on the Utilities menu.  These include such favorites as Ping, Whois, Trace Route, and Name Server Lookup.  And as with every feature in the program, you have the ability to print the output from any of these tools.

It doesn’t end there either. They’ve put several other commonly used tools very close at hand as well. On the Tools menu you can find quick access to the Control Panel, Add and Remove Programs Applet, and the Registry Editor. This is convenient because these are all of the resources you need to follow the steps provided by TUT for disabling different startup applications and services.

The Tools menu also has an option to set a System Restore Point.  The beauty of this is that you have the ability to create a restore point after making system changes, but it’s also a good idea to set one beforehand as well. In the event that you accidentally disable something you didn’t want to, you’ll also have a point immediately prior to any changes to roll back to.
