Nero Liquid TV - Getting started with Nero

What is in that start up kit you just mentioned and how much will it cost me?

The start up package retails for $199 in stores. It comes with the following items:

    • Liquid TV software

    • The tuner card that you need to receive TV shows from your cable or satellite box.

    • The TiVo remote control.

    • An IR transceiver.

    • An RCA input cable.

    • A portable digital TV antenna which allows your TV shows to be transmitted to the computer.

    • The one-year subscription to the TiVo service.

Does Nero Liquid TV aim to replace my cable or satellite service provider or will I still need to keep my current TV service provider to use Nero Liquid TV?

I am sorry to tell you that Nero Liquid TV will not help to save you any money on your bills. If you want to be able to watch TV, you are going to have to keep the services provided by your cable or satellite provider.

Does Nero Liquid TV support the High Definition format or will I only be able to get regular definition shows?

This is another Yes and No type of a situation. For the average user's set up, you can get HD shows on what used to be known as the on-the-air stations. These are stations like ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.

For “over-the-air” shows you are going to encounter some problems. You will need to have a pretty advanced set up to watch HD shows from this. Over the air networks include HBO, Showtime, ESPN, etc. This is disappointing news for most of us who want to take The Tudors with us.
