XG Duro 900 Power Supply Review - Conclusion
(Page 5 of 5 )
Unlike some of the other PSU models in MGE’s XG line, this one does not have any internal lighting. While this may be a downside to some, this PSU seems to been designed for providing true and solid power. I’ll chose dependable power over fancy lights any day.
To be honest, if I had a dual processor setup with SLI configuration, I could have given this PSU a much better run for its money. But as it stands, this PSU delivered what it promised and was ready for more. No matter how much I maxed out my machine, I could not get the PSU to twitch.
At the time of this writing, I found the Duro 900 for about $149 plus shipping online. This is an amazing price for what seems to be a solid 900W power supply.

Ok, now on to the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Solid Power
- Quad 12V rails
- Dual CPU and SLI ready
- Wires wrapped in braided sleeves
- Quiet running
- Very well-priced for a 900W PSU
Cons:
- Non-modular design
- A little light on the amperage for each 12V rail (16A per rail)
Overall, I would give this PSU a rating of 8 out of 10. It delivered strong, unwavering power and did so at a minimum noise level. I might have given this PSU a higher rating, if it provided more power per 12V rail and if it had also been modular. If you need solid power for a high consumption system, I would gladly recommend this PSU.

I’d like to thank MGE for sending us the Duro 900 PSU to review. This is one of the newest PSUs in their XG line. To see more about it, or any of the other products in the XG line, go to http://www.xgbox.com.
