Overall the Ultra X-Connect power supply has an even number of ups and downs. At just $99.99, the 500W power rating is plenty for any computer, but the cables are bulky and difficult to bend. Read on for specs, tests and photos.

Introduction

Every electrical appliance requires a power supply. Many household components have their power supplies built in and hidden while others use a small breakout box that is visible to the eye (cell phone chargers, cable modems, etc.). Likewise, computers require power supplies and the quality and power of these PSUs (power supply unit) can vary tremendously from one to another, so much that it is responsible for the stability or instability of the computer.
