Seasonic Super Tornado 400W Review - Honeycombs of Silence

So far this Seasonic power supply has really impressed me. What you can't see from these test, or hear I should say, is that the 120mm fan in the power supply is nearly silent. And to go back to a point I made earlier about having a fan on the back of the power supply pulling air out, I must admit there is quite a bit of air being forced out the back of this power supply from such a silent running fan.

Here's the reason for the power supply being so quiet. Seasonic's Cyclone Cooling Fan and its Honeycomb designed grill.

    PSU - Honeycomb Cooling

    PSU - Honeycomb design

This Honeycomb grill works well due to amount of air that's able to escape this design. This is a step in the right direction for all power supply makers, should they use a similar design (one fan, at the bottom, pushing air through the power supply for cooling). This design leaves little room for air to just hang around inside the power supply and heat up.
