Seasonic Super Tornado 400W Review - Testing the Unit

To test this power supply, I used a device from Antec, another well known power supply maker. This unit puts a load on the power supply and with the help of a Green LED let's you know that the power supply is performing properly. I also used a Multi-Meter to help read the loads that the Seasonic Tornado put out during our tests.

I first connected the power cable to the power supply and then the wall, then connecting the Antec Power Supply tester. I started reading some voltages from the multi-meter, with nothing else connected to the power supply.

    PSU - Power On

Once I verified that the power supply was functioning properly, I powered it down and connected a Sunon 120MM High Output fan and powered back up.

    PSU - 120mm Power

With the Sunon 120mm H/O fan attached the voltages didn't budge. So I grabbed another fan, this time a loud and powerful Delta fan that was collecting dust in my desk (due to the noise).  Here's what happened with both fans running:

    PSU - Underload

    PSU - 5 Volt Load

This thing was so stable on the voltages that the other pictures I took all looked the same (so there is no need showing you voltages that never changed). The 3.3v differences where identical as well -- not one fluctuation.
