Seasonic S12 Power Supply - Conclusions

    Pros

    • 600W continuous power
    • Excellent voltage readings Idle & Load. (Within specs)
    • SLI compatible & dual CPU ready for next generation hardware.
    • Silent 120mm fan optimizes temperatures and maintains performance.
    • Active PFC makes unit very efficient. And can reduce operating costs.
    • Cable Management Kit allows for better wire management and system airflow
    • Excellent black paint job
    • Multiple versions of the S12 series (330,380,430,500,600W available)

     Cons

    • No user adjustable pots
    • Little pricy at $160
    • Not all S12 series powersupplies are SLI compatible, or provide as many SATA connectors.

    Conclusion

The Seasonic S12 Series certainly performs as well as most high end 420W powersupply units. Although I was unable to use the power supply's SLI capabilities, I am confident that the S12 will perform just as well with two graphics cards. This power supply does lack a few features I would expect to see in a power supply of this price such as adjustable pots, but the voltage rails perform very stable a little below their ratings, without a need for adjustment at 100% usage. And also with the ability to upgrade to the latest hardware without having to replace the power supply is great.

If you are in the market for a new power supply that is filled with the latest technology and is compatible with the newest hardware, this power supply, the 600W S12 is an excellent choice, but if you are planning to run an older system for a long period of time, check out other Seasonic S12 Series power supplies as they will provide a better solution for those not ready to run the latest hardware but still would like a strong and reliable power supply.
