OCZ Powerstream 420W Review - Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • Excellent performance.

    • Adjustable rails.

    • Amazing build quality.

    • Massive heat sinks for excellent heat dissipation.

    • Silent 2x80mm fans for excellent airflow.

    • Overclocking headroom for most processors, with excellent stable rails.

    • Long cables for full ATX cases.

    • Peak power output of 520W.

    • Multiple power supplies and wattages available, 420W, 520W, and 600W.

    • Inexpensive compared to most power supplies with similar features.

    Cons

    • Long cables may be hard to hide in small chassis.

    • Questionable usage of a single green LED fan.

    Conclusion

The OCZ Powerstream is by far the best power supply that I have owned. It performs much better than any of my other power supplies in every way. The Powerstream's performance is very close to that of the PC Power & Cooling power supply, for considerably less money. The OCZ Powerstream is perfect for all overclockers, high power users and anyone who knows that a good power supply is the key to system stability.

I highly suggest that, if you are looking for the highest quality overclocking power supply for the lowest price, you should pick up a OCZ Powerstream. While you're at it, check out OCZ’s lines of memory products. They include standard memory for your mom's computer, to their VX Gold series RAMs for your high bandwidth, low latency overclocked computer.

Because of its excellent build quality and amazing performance in very high overclocking situations, the OCZ Powerstream certainly deserves our Dev Hardware Recommended Award.
