OCZ Powerstream 420W Review - Results
The OCZ Powerstream was designed to be the ultimate overclockers' power supply. One of its key features is the ability to adjust the voltage. Since the Powerstream has adjustable rails, I am going to set up the voltages as close to the default voltage as possible at idle in BIOS: 12v will be at 12.01v, 3.3v will be at 3.31v and 5v will be 5.00v. To get my idle results, I let my system idle in Windows for 10 minutes, To get the load voltages, I ran Need For Speed Underground 2 to use the maximum power from the power supply unit.
PC Test Bed
- Intel P4 505 2.66 GHz @ 20x215 1.43v
- Abit AA8 Duramax (droop mod)
- 2x512MB Wintec PC25400 2.08v
- Gigabyte PCX5750 586/724
- Samsung Spin point 80GB SATA drive
- NEC 8x DVD+RW drive
- 3x120mm Adda 80CFM Fans @ 12v

Considering the amount of overclocking, and the very low voltage drop, the power supply performs just as I expected: flawlessly.
