Apex SL-800EPS 600W PSU - Out of the box

This PSU comes in an attractive package, shrink wrapped in plastic. The most obvious feature when looking at the box is the size of the fan in the PSU. Yes, there is a 120mm fan inside the PSU for keeping it cool.

Looking at the box in detail, we are able to locate the rated specs for this PSU:

This being the SL-8600EPS, our specs are the bottom row in the above image.

After opening the box and peering inside, I found three major pieces included in this box. First, obviously, is the PSU itself. Second is a power cable, and third is a small instruction manual.  Let's take a better look:

I've got to tell you, this PSU is PRETTY.  Its polished appearance will enrich the look of almost any case.  Let's take a close look at the PSU itself:

As you can see above, the PSU has a nearly polished surface, and it is quite easy to see your reflection in its surface.  Also, the included fan emits a blue glow, which enhances the look of your case (especially if you have a window on your side panel), as well as the PSU itself.

Above is a shot of the end of the wiring harness.  It would have been nice if the wiring harness had been modular (which is being seen in more and more PSUs today), but I do have to say that all of the leads are pretty long (definitely longer than average).

What say we open her up for a peek before we install and test?
